I want to introduce myself as I transition into Dr. Jane Charters’ practice as your new primary care physician beginning March 1, 2025. My name is Dr. Alka Sood, and I am a board-certified family physician specializing in comprehensive primary patient care.
My medical journey has been a global one, in which I completed medical school at University College Dublin in Ireland, a foundation year of training in Singapore, family medicine residency at Penn State in the USA, and a fellowship in Women’s Health at Queen’s University. Since completing my training, I have worked in a number of settings providing primary care, surgical assisting, as well as teaching University of Toronto medical students. My experiences have helped broaden my understanding of the complexities of patient care.
My commitment in primary care is to provide personalized and thorough medical advice. My approach focuses on preventive medicine, chronic disease management, and addressing acute health concerns to ensure your overall well-being. Additionally, my dedication to women’s health includes comfort with contraception and sexual health management, prenatal care, and also menopause management. Overall, I am passionate about supporting my patients through all stages of life. My goal is to deliver compassionate care and build a strong partnership with each of my patients.
I look forward to meeting you and continuing the excellent care you have received under Dr.
Charters, as I work with you to maintain and improve your health.
I thank Dr. Charters for the strong foundation she has built with her patients, and wish her all the best on her journey moving forward.
Thank you for entrusting me with your care.
Sincerely,
Dr. Alka Sood
